A lifetime of experience
Caroline Hambright was born in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up, she watched her dad do it all-- his job title was “inventor.” From him, Caroline learned how to draw, experiment, and of course, use power tools. This foundation was critical to Caroline’s long-lived passion for expressing herself through many different kinds of media.
After completing art school studying painting and printmaking, Caroline decided to get a teaching credential; teaching is a great way to use a varied skill set. She moved to Santa Barbara to begin her career, and there she became involved with the Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Parade as one of their Artists in Residence. This environment allowed Caroline to thrive in new and exciting ways by building massive parade floats. She then began her Youtube channel as a way to continue making interesting creations out of junk during the school year.
During the pandemic, Caroline switched gears. Needing a break from teaching, she decided to get back into painting. Caroline painted full time, usually focusing on landscapes. She was featured in galleries and painted murals in private spaces. Eventually, she returned to teaching again, and moved to Willits, CA to accept a position at an alternative charter school (and live alone in the woods, a lifelong dream).
In Willits, Caroline has an art studio and a garage to work in. Although it is often hard to find balance between her various interests, Caroline is dedicated to sharing her journey and educating people about how to make art, find their spark, and make the world a more beautiful place.
